Over / Bio

Siegmar Gerken, Ph.D, ECP, HP studied psychology, education and anthropology. He has pioneered body-oriented and heart-centered therapy and Humanistic psychology since 1971 and is the founder of the Energy & Consciousness programs, www.EnergyandConsciousness.com and of Core Evolution, www.CoreEvolution.com. Siegmar taught at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, presently at the JFK University, at the Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California, and others.

Siegmar is a therapist, trainer and supervisor. He conducts body-oriented therapy and mindfulness-based trainings at the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute in Hamburg, and specialized Management and Coaching Seminars. Besides his own trainings in Core Evolution, he lectures and teaches at universities and private institutes worldwide on the interconnectedness of psychosomatic processes as they manifest on the levels of body, emotions, mind, will and consciousness. His research in energy field documentation of psycho-emotional states opened new horizons to scientists and practitioners.

He worked with most of the Pioneers in Body-Oriented and Mindfulness Centered Therapy like Alexander Lowen and has been the co-teacher of John Pierrakos for almost 20 years. He is the founder of the International Institute for Energy & Consciousness with experiential programs teaching with Zen Masters (Roshi Zen Master Rei Ho Hatapla); Sufi Teachers (Dinesh; and Siegmar's work with Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan), Native American's and Mexican Shamans and consciousness teachers in other fields. Siegmar works with individuals, groups, couples and professional trainings, organizational consulting, conflict resolution and personal healing.
